Biography

I grew up in Charters Towers, North Queensland and went to James Cook University where I studied a Bachelor of Engineering (computer systems) and Batchelor of Science (computer science).

My career started in Brisbane as a programmer developing in C and Oracle before moving to Victoria. After 6 years I returned to Brisbane where I currently reside.

I have over 13 years experience in the IT industry as a software engineer and consultant working with Oracle, Java/J2EE and Vignette. I've worked in a diverse range of sectors including Telecommunications, Government, Financial, Education, Manufacturing, Travel and Utilities and have worked with some of the leaders in these areas, including CNet, G.E Network Solutions. Vignette and Microsoft.

In 2004 I made the transition to management when I took on the role of Engineering manager at Ephox, a software company whose engineering department is located in Brisbane, Australia.
